Recognising and promoting the outstanding achievements of senior visual art students throughout Queensland’s state and non-state schools, the Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art will this year be held for the first time at the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre and will include all nominated works.

The only collective exhibition of senior student work from the North Coast Regions, the awards showcase an extensive variety of art and design.

Including video, film and electronic imaging, ceramics, costume and stage design, drawing, environmental design, fibre arts, graphic design, installation, painting,

performance art, photography, printmaking, product design and sculpture.

Region Coordinator and Teacher Mandy McGuire says we can expect works that are “curriculum driven but by no means confined by conventional boundaries, the students works are incredibly diverse, thought provoking and insightful.  Expressing not only the desires, concerns and visions of our young community, but also showing that creativity is essential to their lives now and in the future.”

Exhibition Opening 2PM Saturday 14th September
