Mary Poppins Festival

Maryborough, Fraser Coast Area
28 June – 7 July 2019 –

Free Entry

This year’s Festival presents a two week program of storytelling for all ages through all art forms. From music concerts backstage and onstage at the Brolga to pop up performances in the Bond Store Basement.

Their artists share their stories through exhibitions and public art installations. Walk the streets and search the rooftops for some very special new surprises as part of the Maryborough Story Trails experience.

The signature event is the Mary Poppins Festival Day in the Park where Maryborough’s glorious heritage streetscapes are transformed into scenes from the Poppins novels.

Nannies race each other pushing prams in the great Nanny Challenge; chimney sweeps compete in the Chimney Sweep Dash while Mary Poppins characters come to life from the pages of books and mingle with the crowd.

The entertainment includes professional street theatre performers, sidewalk artists, jugglers, roving Penny Farthing, grand costume parade, kite display, vintage cars, carnival rides and old fashioned games and workshops.
