Sculptures on the Edge

This year is our biggest, 39 pieces by 30 artists.  The sculptures are right around the path of Spicers Tamarind Retreat making it a lovely sculpture trail.  We are sponsored by Spicers, IGA Maleny, Ray White Maleny, Hammond Optometry, Illume Creations, Maleny & Montville Chambers and MAD Gallery.

A few pieces are installed at the moment with the rest going in during next week.  We open to the public on 29 September and close 23 October.

On 15 October, Spicers Tamarind will host a 5 course banquet with matching wines for the ‘die hard’ sculpture fans.  6 extraordinary sculptors will sit on a panel where they will answer questions.  Before the dinner, they will personally take the guests around to see the sculptures from around 4pm.  The lineup includes long time entrant, Elli Sclunke, well known bronze artist, Mela Cooke, last years first prize winner, Miles Allen, nationally renown glass blower, Tina Cooper, new comer to Sculpture on the Edge but well known, Charles McGuire, and for a newcomers perspective, Jules McCrae.

We have a 76 colour catalogue/publication for sale at the Spicers $25, which gives an insight into all of our artists and their motivation for their pieces.

Spicers Tamarind Retreat, 88 Obi Lane South, Maleny. Ticketed Awards night & official opening Thursday 5 October.
